Sonja Pauline Julian 1960

Sonja Pauline Julian, 62, passed away on Aug. 25, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi - St. Francis in Wichita, Kan. She was born on Dec. 2, 1960, in Great Bend, Kan., to Eldon and Delpha (Anthony) Wilson. Sonja was married to Clay Julian; they later divorced.

A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Sonja sewed mats at USA Gym Supply for 23 years. She attended the Nazarene Church in her younger years and was a member of the Eagles Lodge #646. Sonja could be found bartending many events in her spare time, spending time with her family, and bragging about her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, C.J. (Melissa) Julian of Ozark, Ark.; daughter, Misty (Jon) Donecker of Pawnee Rock, Kan.; five grandchildren, Serenity and Jace Julian, Hunter, Gage and Temprance Donecker; three brothers, Bill (Diana) Smith and Wade Wilson, all of Newton, Kan., and Kevin (Candi) Wilson of Hutchinson, Kan.; two sisters, Donna (Tom) Boese of Cimarron, Kan., and Janet (Terry) Lewis of Jacksonville, Ark.; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Chuck Smith.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Boese and Pastor James Strickland presiding. Interment will follow at Pawnee Rock Cemetery. The family has requested that guests dress casually to services. Memorials have been designated to Kans for Kids, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
